The smoke detector in my apartment has been inspected and been found to be in working order.

It will be the tenants responsibility to check the smoke detector periodically by pushing the test button - which should be held for at least 10 seconds. It is also the tenants responsibility to replace the battery when necessary. When the battery is wearing down the smoke detector will give off a beep every minute or so. If after replacing the battery in your smoke detector it still does not work - please call the owner/manager so that it can be repaired or replaced

City ordinance may require that the head of each family occupying an apartment contained in a building of 6 or more units must furnish and maintain, for his own use, a fire extinguisher with a rating of at least lAl0BC

The owners and managers of your building will not be liable for any loss of life or property due to failure of this smoke detector or fire extinguisher.
